Below are answers to some of the most common questions I’ve received. If I haven't covered your query here or on the website, feel free to get in touch with me and ask away.

Can I train with a friend or partner?

Yes, that sounds like a lovely idea. Both 'Pay As You Go' and 'Mobile Membership' options work well if you'd like to train with a friend or partner.
Please enquire so I can give you an updated cost for the package.

Why do I need a consultation?

Before commencing any personal training programme I will undertake a free consultation with you. This will consist of a conversation around your goals and daily life.

The consultation is very helpful for both of us as it is your chance to meet me and work out if you think we will get along, but also for me to get an idea of you - what you've tried in the past that maybe hasn't worked, what you'd like to get out your sessions, how you envisage PT fitting into your lifestyle, any thing you feel particularly overwhelmed by that I can provide extra support for (e.g. nutrition) etc.

It also gives us a chance to decide where in your house you're happy to train and which exercises will work best in that space. This all helps me to write a tailored programme and provide the best possible service to you.

I don't have any equipment, can I still train with you?

Yes of course! I bring all the equipment we will need for the session. We'll just need an area of floor, or garden, space. I will bring rubber mats to cover your floor so there will be no damage to it.

How are you different from a regular trainer at a gym?

In general a personal trainer is a great idea if:

  • You're not seeing results from your current exercise routine

  • You're bored of your normal workouts

  • You want to be challenged

  • You want support and supervision during workouts

  • You want to learn how to exercise alone

  • You need accountability and motivation

  • You want to train for a specific event

Mobile personal training has additional benefits

  • It's private

  • It's in a space you are comfortable with

  • You don't have to travel

  • You don't have to find childcare

  • If you work from home and you want to fit a workout in

  • There's no waiting for someone else to finish on the piece of equipment you want

What times are your sessions?

My availability is from 6am - 8pm Monday to Saturday.

What do I wear?

During the initial consultation we won't be doing any exercise so no need for any specific clothing.
For any of your following sessions wear comfortable, breathable clothes with trainers.

What does each session involve?

Most sessions will follow a format similar to:
5-10 minutes warming up and mobilising
40 minutes working through the main session that is tailored to your goals and will progress over time. This time involves all explanations, demonstrations, work and rest.
5-10 minutes of stretching and debriefing

What equipment can I expect to use with you?

My collection is always growing, but I am limited to what I can carry about in the car.
The core pieces of equipment I use on a regular basis include dumbbells, a small barbell, a bench, skipping rope and resistance bands.
For all of our sessions I will bring rubber floor mats so there is no damage to your flooring.

Why two months initial sign up?

I believe in coaching and educating clients to make long-term and sustainable changes towards a healthier life. I want you to have the best chance at reaching your goals and I want the journey there to be fun and rewarding – as then you are more likely to maintain these positive new habits. The reason there is a two-month initial sign up is because of this. I want you to be sure that you are ready to make this commitment to yourself.
